Websites - Practices and Philosophy

Different web designers adhere to different principles. When I design a website, this is what I keep in mind:

• Purpose - Different websites must be designed differently. Some are sales websites, others are galleries, all are different.
• Speed - This is the information age. No matter the content, people want websites that are fast and responsive.
• Compatibility - There are too many different browsers, screens, and operating systems for a website to depend on just one. All the websites I design are tested in Konqueror/Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer 6.
• Web Standards - In accordance with the W3C recommendations, I try to avoid tables and design heavily with CSS.
