Logan's CPR Story

After saving his 2-year-old brother from drowning, Logan Hearn has proven that he takes his big brother duties very seriously. The 9-year-old from Joliet, Ill., performed CPR on his little brother Brendan after his mom Tabitha pulled the toddler out of the family's pool, "The Early Show" reports. She started doing CPR, but Logan, who learned CPR while taking junior life guarding classes, intervened. My son, Tabitha tells "The Early Show," said, "You're doing that wrong, and kind of told me just to move out of the way, and did the procedure like it should be done, and it was working!"

"I closed his nose, tilted his head back, blew two breaths in, and then pumped his chest, and then I stopped, because water was just pouring out, and a small amount of food," Logan says.Logan's parents are amazed by what he was able to do.

"Even as an adult, I don't know if I could do that. I could try to do CPR, but to have that composure, and to have that patience, you know, is just amazing at that age," Logan's father, Brent Hearn, tells "The Early Show." Logan isn't new to life-or-death situations -- he had a liver transplant when he was 7-and-a-half months old, getting a part of his mother's liver. He's also been off anti-rejection drugs for three years as part of a clinical study, Logan tells "The Early Show."
